It's been a long time!! I know!!

Hello Friends!!

I know that it has been a long time since I last posted. And during that post I told you how sick I was. It took FOREVER for me to get better!! I still after all this time take a coughing spell now and again. Oh, the joys of Asthma!! Nothing is ever a simple sickness if you have Asthma!! But after I got better, my cat got sick. Not the one I use for my pic on the blog, but my middle cat ( I have 3). I am so sad to say the my dear, sweet cat Boo passed away on Oct. 30 from feline leukemia. It was a very fast sickness and he was gone in the blink of my eye!! Even though it has been almost a month since he left, I still cry about everyday. And for this reason I really haven't felt like blogging. But I couldn't stay quiet any longer. And it is about time to start turning out some more konadicures. I have noticed a few new followers and to you I say welcome. I hope to have some new designs for you over the Thanksgiving break!! Thank you for not giving up on me! I hope that you and yours have a wonderful Thanksgiving!! And I look forward to hearing you comments and suggestions!!

Love to all,
Julie
This is me and my Boo last Christmas. Our little house is just not the same without him, and I miss him more than words can say!! Nite-Nite sweet Booser-man!! Mommy loves you!!

You Make Me Smile Award-Tag

I have been awarded the you make me smile award/tag by none other the the fab Christy from Kronicles of a Konader!!

Christy, thanks so much!! Your blog is an inspiration and your talents never fail to amaze me!!

Number one tag rule... I have to post a song that makes me smile!! This was harder for me than it sounded!! I LOVE MUSIC.!! It is hard for me to pick just one favorite!! Jason Mraz 's "I'm Yours" crossed my mind, and so did Jimmy Buffett's "Volocano." I end up smiling every time I hear both of those songs. But on the way to work this morning I heard this song and saw myself smiling in the rear view mirror, and I just knew that Kool and the Gang's "Celebration" would be the song that I would pick. But it can't be embedded!! :( So, I found a silly song that was out on a few country station about a hundred years ago ;P .......

"COW PATTY"

I have to say "Cow Patty" just cracks me up!!! It's not one of the songs that I would listen everyday, but it does bring a smile!!

Now I tag...
in random order...

Subtle Cords

I have said that I like to match my nails to the outfits that I wear to work. Usually I have an idea for an outfit and then come the nails. So when I picked out the outfit that I'm wearing tomorrow, I kinda had a nail design in mind. Little did I know how hard it would be to photograph!! It took me FOREVER to get a half way decent shot of it!! I think the problem was that the mani is a chrome on chrome. The camera flash was just bouncing all over the place. And it was too dark without a flash. Finally, I got a couple of shots!!

I call it Subtle Cords...

By now you know that I love China Glaze!! I used 2 coats of Cords as the base. And then used
Metallic Muse for the stamping!! Using plate m64, I had a cute, little plaid design!!

I hope that you enjoyed!!

Fall Filigree

Fall is in full swing here in the mountains of North Carolina. We have already had a few nights in the upper 30's and lower 40's. And the trees are starting to show off their pretty colors. So my mani's are leaning more toward fall colors. I decided last night to use a konad design I have never used before. So I found the sweet, little filigree from plate m6. A fancy, small design that looks a folk art design.

I used 2 coats of China Glaze's Awakening. Konad Black Special Stamping Polish. And that sweet little fall filigree from plate m6. Top it off with a coat of Seche Vite, and your out the door to enjoy a lovely fall day!!

For my Mama!

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month!! And my Mama is a 7 year survivor!!! So I did this konadicure just for her!! She has such courage and grace!!
This is one of those mani's I just did for fun. It didn't really match the outfit that I wore on that day. It was more of a statement of pride for my Mom!! Just a little way to say "I honor you!" She and I went shopping the day I had this design on my nails. And she had fun telling the store clerks about the design!!

For this design I used 2 coats of China Glaze's Liquid Leather. And Konad's special polish in Pink. I think the "ribbon" design from m63 (which is what I used in this mani) could be used for any type of awareness themed manicure. Finally I topped it with Seche Vite, and we were out the door to shop, shop, shop!!

Thanks for taking time to look!!

I love you Mom!!

Casual Sunday

Happy Sunday!!!

Sometimes I just want to do a simple mani that will go with what ever I'm wearing. Most of the time I choose my outfit first, and design my mani around that. But, Sunday's are just a little more laid back than my work week. So I came up with this mani before I knew what I was going to wear. I picked fall, neutral colors that would go with almost anything I put on. I call it:

Casual Sunday

I used two coats of China Glaze "Fifth Avenue" as the base. And used China Glaze "VII," and plate m63 for the Konad stamping. And topped it as usual with Sache Vite. It is an out the door type of Konadicure. I always get a lot of compliments when I use the swirl of m63 with any color combination. It just looks perfect, always!!

Thanks for stopping by!! And here's hoping the your Sunday is casual and relaxed!!
